A Big September Ahead for the Green & Golds

A Big September Ahead for the Green & Golds

Jamie Willis

The countdown is well and truly on as Beddau prepare for the start of another exciting campaign in the WRU Admiral Community Premiership.

After an excellent 2025/26 season which saw the Green & Golds finish as Premiership runners-up, attention now turns to a new challenge and a demanding opening month which will provide an early test for Lee Davies and his squad.

Four league fixtures await during September, with two trips on the road and two big afternoons at Mount Pleasant Park.

Saturday 5th September

Bedwas v Beddau – Bridge Field

The new campaign begins with a trip to newly promoted Bedwas.

Bedwas return to the top flight after winning the Championship East last season and will undoubtedly be looking to make an impression on their return to Premiership rugby.

With the hosts eager to celebrate their promotion in front of their own supporters, Beddau can expect a difficult opening afternoon at Bridge Field.

For the Green & Golds, however, it represents an opportunity to get the new campaign off to a positive start following a busy summer and a valuable programme of pre-season fixtures.

Saturday 12th September

Beddau v Llangenech – Mount Pleasant Park

Seven days later, Premiership rugby returns to Mount Pleasant Park when Llangenech make the journey east.

It will be Beddau’s first home league fixture of the 2026/27 campaign and an opportunity for our supporters to get behind the squad as another season of Premiership rugby gets underway at MPP.

Llangenech have provided Beddau with some tough encounters in recent seasons and another competitive afternoon is expected.

There is always something special about the first home league game of a new season, and we hope to see a big Green & Gold following at Mount Pleasant Park.

Saturday 19th September

Neath v Beddau – The Gnoll

Arguably one of the standout fixtures of the opening month follows as Beddau travel to one of Welsh rugby’s most famous grounds – The Gnoll – to face Neath.

The Welsh All Blacks will again be expected to be amongst the leading sides in the division and the trip west will provide a major early-season examination for Beddau.

Games between the two clubs have produced some excellent contests in recent seasons and a visit to The Gnoll is always an occasion to look forward to.

It promises to be a tremendous challenge and another opportunity for the Green & Golds to test themselves against one of the strongest sides in the Community Premiership.

Saturday 26th September

Beddau v Narberth – Mount Pleasant Park

September concludes back at Mount Pleasant Park when Narberth are the visitors.

The Otters are another well-established and highly respected Premiership outfit and will provide another stern test to complete Beddau’s opening month.

Beddau enjoyed some memorable encounters with Narberth last season and another competitive contest can be expected when the sides meet at MPP.

With home advantage, the Green & Golds will be hoping to finish September strongly before attention turns towards the next stage of the campaign.

Four Big Saturdays

There can be little doubt that Beddau have been handed a challenging start.

5 September – Bedwas (A)
12 September – Llangenech (H)
19 September – Neath (A)
26 September – Narberth (H)

Four games. Four tough opponents. And four opportunities for the Green & Golds to lay down an early marker.

After the achievements of last season, another exciting journey is about to begin.
