Beddau Athletic officially began their preparations for the 2026/27 campaign last Wednesday evening as more than 40 players returned to training at Bryncelynnog Comprehensive School.

There was an excellent turnout for the opening session, with a strong mix of returning players and new faces all eager to stake their claim ahead of what promises to be an exciting season for the Green and Golds.

Following an outstanding 2025/26 campaign, where Beddau Athletic finished as unbeaten league champions to secure promotion, attention now turns to a new challenge in the WRU Admiral Division Five East Central.

The coaching team were delighted with the enthusiasm, intensity and commitment shown throughout the opening session, providing an encouraging platform to build on over the coming weeks as preparations continue.

With competition for places already high, the squad will continue their pre-season programme before turning their attention to the opening league fixture.

Beddau Athletic’s first competitive outing of the season comes on Saturday, 12 September, when they travel to Glyncoch for what is expected to be a stern test against a well-organised home side.
