Beddau RFC are immensely proud to announce that the Club has been awarded Platinum Accreditation as part of the Welsh Rugby Union’s new Club Investment Model – the highest level of recognition available to community clubs in Wales.

This prestigious achievement places Beddau RFC amongst the leading community rugby clubs in the country and reflects the outstanding work that takes place both on and off the field.

The WRU’s new Club Investment Model has been developed following an extensive consultation process with clubs across Wales and represents a significant cultural shift in how community rugby is supported. While success on the field remains important, the model now also recognises excellence in areas including governance, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, volunteer development, community engagement, facilities and the overall sustainability of clubs.

The Platinum award demonstrates that Beddau RFC is leading the way in creating a modern, well-run and welcoming rugby club that serves its players, members and the wider community.

The new framework has been designed to ensure clubs are “funding ready” and rewards those who demonstrate best practice across every aspect of club life. It reflects the WRU’s vision of developing resilient, sustainable and thriving community clubs for generations to come.

This achievement has not happened overnight. It is the result of countless hours of dedication from volunteers, committee members, coaches, team managers, players, parents, supporters and sponsors who all contribute to making Beddau RFC the outstanding club it is today.

From the continued growth of our thriving Mini & Junior section, the development of our Youth and senior teams, investment in coach education and safeguarding, community initiatives, volunteer support and governance, every area of the club has played a part in reaching this landmark.

Everyone connected with Beddau RFC should feel immensely proud of this recognition.

The Club would like to thank the Welsh Rugby Union and its Club Development Team for their guidance throughout the process and congratulate everyone involved in helping Beddau RFC achieve the highest possible accreditation.

While Platinum status is a fantastic milestone, it is by no means the finish line. The Club remains committed to continuous improvement, providing opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy rugby, and ensuring Mount Pleasant Park continues to be a welcoming home for the entire community.
