There were no fixtures for both the 1st XV and Youth XV, but the Athletic and Colliers once again put on excellent displays to earn bonus point league wins.
The Athletic kept their spot at the top of the WRU Admiral Division Six East Central with a big 78-0 win at a battling Sully Sports. The green and golds put in a commanding first half display to put the hosts on the back foot and scored some excellent tries in the process. They will be hoping to keep their unbeaten start to the season going when they entertain Llanrumney this weekend.
The Colliers also put on a good display in wet conditions at local neighbours Llantwit Fardre to record their third bonus point win of the season. Beddau again scored some good tries against a resilient Blues team and earn the 33-7 win. The win keeps them third in the Mid District league table hot on the heels of early leaders Llantrisant and Ynysybwl who have played more games currently.
As always Llantwit gave Beddau a warm welcome both on and off the field. It has been great to get fixtures between the Clubs happening more regularly at Youth and Colliers level this season which has allowed plenty of banter and old friends meeting up at the ground and Clubhouses after, which keeps the Club treasurers happy.
The Colliers league fixture at Tylorstown this weekend has been postponed but as well as the Athletics home game, the 1st XV have another important Premiership game with Cardiff Met at Mount Pleasant Park and the Youth are scheduled to face off also at home to Rhiwbina in a Cardiff Rugby league fixture. More info on these games to follow.
Once again on Sunday our mini and juniors all showed some excellent glimpses of what the good future holds at the Club. Well done everyone.
