After the disappointment of last weekend’s postponement against Llangenench, the 1st XV will be looking forward to getting back on the field with a visit to Newbridge in another WRU Admiral Community Premiership game.
Beddau were in top form in the early season game between the Clubs at Mount Pleasant Park where they recorded an excellent bonus point 33-5 win over the Gwent outfit. The trip to the Welfare ground though has always been a difficult one and many teams return empty handed.
In fact, all of Newbridge’s four wins this term have been on their home patch and they will certainly be on the lookout for points to see them climb up from their current ninth place in the league ladder.
Beddau are also hungry for points to keep the pressure on the top two Pontypridd and Merthyr who are in action against Narberth (away) and Llanelli Wanderers (home) respectively.
Lloyd Evans leads the team that includes the same forwards that were selected for last weeks fixture with Llangenech. In the back line Callaghan Smith and Cody Baker are recalled, whilst Ioan Leyshon will be given another opportunity to make his debut.

There is a top of the table WRU Division Six East Central clash at Mount Pleasant as our table topping Athletic XV welcome second place Kenfig Hill Athletic.
The Green and Golds put on one of their best performances of the season to beat the Bridgend based Club in October claiming an excellent 60-12 win. Since that game, Saturday’s visitors have only lost once which was a narrow 34-29 defeat to rivals Tondu Athletic last weekend.
A win for Beddau would extend their five-point lead at the top but a loss would open the door for the chasing Kenfig Hill and Tondu.

The Colliers will also be in action with a scheduled Mid District league game against Ynysybwl at Yorkdale.
The visitors will travel to Beddau on the back of a very successful first part of the season that sees them sit in second place with just one loss this season which was a narrow 17-13 loss against league leaders Llantrisant.
Beddau are still sit in third spot in the table with a 100% record from their three league games played so far. A win could see them jump above their visitors.
Team news to follow.
