With a 7.30pm kick off, it promises to be a great occasion for the young Green & Golds as they get their Cardiff Mid League 2 campaign underway against familiar opposition from just down the road.

Beddau were due to begin their league season last weekend at home to Tonyrefail, but the fixture was postponed at the request of the visitors.

That means Friday night will provide the first opportunity for the Youth XV to take to the field in competitive league action this season.

Visitors Llantrisant have already begun their campaign, suffering defeat against Llantwit Fardre on the opening weekend, and they will make the short journey to Mount Pleasant Park looking to get their first points of the season.

For Beddau, the game represents another important step for a group of players continuing their progression through the club pathway. Youth rugby remains a hugely important link between our thriving Mini & Junior section and the senior sides, giving the next generation of Green & Golds the opportunity to develop and represent the club.

And what better way to start the league season than a Friday night local derby under the Mount Pleasant Park lights?

With Llantrisant making the short trip across, we would love to see a good crowd at the club to get behind both sets of young players and create a great Friday night atmosphere.
