Beddau RFC has taken another significant step in strengthening its thriving Mini & Junior section after hosting the first session of its new Coach Development Programme at the club’s clubhouse and playing fields.

Led by former regional coach Duane Goodfield (pictured), the opening session brought together coaches from across the club’s age-grade pathway, with representatives from the Under 6s through to the Under 16s all in attendance.

The evening focused on creating a consistent coaching philosophy throughout the club, ensuring every young player at Beddau receives the same high-quality experience as they progress through the age groups. Topics covered included the club’s language and DNA, core skills, attacking principles, defensive organisation, constraint-based games and progressive learning tailored to each age group.

The session provided coaches with practical ideas, fresh perspectives and valuable discussion around player development, helping to ensure that Beddau’s young players continue to enjoy an environment where they can learn, develop and thrive.

A huge thank you goes to Duane Goodfield for sharing his expertise and experience with the club’s coaching team. His knowledge and enthusiasm made for an engaging and hugely beneficial evening for everyone involved.

This is just the beginning of an exciting coaching development programme at Beddau RFC, with Session Two already being planned as the club continues its commitment to developing both its players and its coaches.
