Preparations are gathering pace at Beddau RFC as the Green & Golds continue to build towards the start of the 2026/27 WRU Admiral Community Premiership season.

With pre-season now well underway, the squad has been put through its paces with a demanding and varied training programme designed to ensure the players are in peak condition for the challenges ahead.

Training sessions at the University of Wales, Treforest have provided the foundations for an intense pre-season, with the coaching team continuing to increase the workload and standards at every session. The commitment and effort shown by the players has been outstanding, with excellent numbers in attendance and competition for places already evident.

Away from the training field, the squad has also enjoyed several team-building events. The inaugural Beddau Shield event proved to be a fantastic occasion, while the gruelling challenge of the Merthyr Mawr Sand Dunes tested both fitness and resilience in equal measure.

Last Saturday, players and staff also took part in the Pontypridd Parkrun, adding another enjoyable but challenging session to the pre-season schedule. It was another excellent opportunity for the squad to spend time together, strengthen relationships and continue building the togetherness that will be so important throughout the season.

Head Coach Lee Davies and his coaching team have been delighted with the attitude and application shown by the squad, with every session seeing the players grow stronger physically while developing the unity and culture that the club prides itself on.

With the countdown to the new Premiership season continuing, excitement is building around Mount Pleasant Park as Beddau look to build on another successful campaign and once again compete amongst the very best in Welsh community rugby.

The hard work continues, but the signs are extremely encouraging as the Green & Golds prepare for another exciting season in the WRU Admiral Community Premiership.
